There is something about enjoying a song that doesn’t have the kudos and acclaim that others may have. It’s almost like your own little appreciation society for the ‘true connoisseurs’ of class where it emerges. Of course it can be over-blown snobbery with little backing, but at its best, there is much to find endearing about this little hobby.
Stevie Wonder obviously gets heaps of kudos and rightly so. Yet for a while as a singer, lover, wife and co-writer Syreeta Wright had every right to get kudos in line with her undoubted ability as a vocalist and songwriter. That she didn’t in her lifetime is one of those sad things we endure in life’s journey. Yet there is still the time celebrate and enjoy what us true connoisseurs have admired for the longest time.
You won’t hear this song often even on the most obscure specialist radio station or show, but Keep Him Like He Is has a charm and distinguished feel to it that makes it an attractive song. Enjoy.
