Soul Shadows – Crusaders and Featuring Randy Crawford

Bill Withers to me remains one of the most underrated soul singer/songwriters of the 20th Century.  When people are throwing around names like Teddy Pendergrass, Marvin Gaye, Stevie Wonder, Lionel Richie, Donny Hathaway and the like Withers is barely mentioned, but the guy was good.  I posted his version of Soul Shadows last year and hearing the Crusaders put together their own version in the video above reminded me of some of the pearls of musical brilliance that Withers has given.  Randy’s vocals on the beauty are also worthy of mention and blogging, because I think Randy Crawford is another rather underrated Soul songstress. Enjoy.
