We Didn’t Start The Fire – Billy Joel

Posted on Updated on

I admit it.  Billy Joel is criminally under represented on this blog.  the guy has come out with some some real beauties in terms of tracks.  Whether it’s a ballad, a pop hit or a real rocker he can churn them out.  He’s done more than enough to earn a place in the list of rock greats.

With this song Joel gives a good tribute to a troublesome time in the history of his country. Funny is it not?  This is a song about the old days, that is now so old that the era in which it was produced could itself now be the subject of a song about those days.

Hold on … what do you mean of all the Billy Joel’s to pick on the 14th of February I have to choose this one?  Get over it, it’s just another day for you and me in paradise.  Nothing special, carry on. Enjoy.

Shalom
