So in the last entry I was mentioning how a trip to the library ended up being enthralled by how the story-creators do what they do. This second part is more on Jack Kirby. Following on from the little interview that was posted previously, this mini-documentary was put together giving an insight into the life of the artist.
What interests me about these stories is how they don’t reveal secrets, but do give an illumination into what made the person do what they did and how it can be a great motivator as well as a potential stumbling block.
Good documentaries always get you into the story of the person and enjoy it and this documentary does it to a great extent. Evidently the story of Kirby is one of recognition a bit too late for him. Still, the legacy he’s evidently left has inspired more of those great writers and comics to be written that we can enjoy to this day. As this post from another fascinating documentary outlines.
